Queensland's a big state full of lots of opportunity. It is a natural home, for our primary industries, particularly in agriculture.

And we have some champion sectors that are world leading in that space.

The future of Queensland is intrinsically linked to the success of our primary industries. And so are the many communities of which we operate and support.

It's important for Queensland to have bold and long term strategies to to help drive our primary industry sector.

Prosper 2050 is important because, it inspires confidence that allows our business to continue to invest in developing productivity and innovation in a sustainable way.

I got involved because it was a great opportunity to help shape government policy.

That hopefully had some bold, ambitions over a longer term plan for our state and our regions.

So, the collaboration that happened between industry and Queensland Government at a regional level was a really fantastic process.

Agriculture in our region is imperative to our economy.

Agriculture has been the top performing industry in our region for the last two years. The export that comes out of our region is phenomenal.

The beef industry alone is worth $1.4 billion to our region.

The biosecurity, the water security, all of the advocacy that we do out of this region, is just imperative.

For me here on the Darling Downs, Agriculture is so diverse. It is so prosperous. And the scale and the export that comes out of our region is huge.

Right here where we are standing we are sitting between two food bowls. We have the Darling Downs to the west of us. And we have the Lockyer Valley to the east of us.

It makes us an incredible hub, for the amount of activity that goes on in here and the infrastructure that is required to continue to grow.
