These principles guide how government and industry agree to work together to develop and deliver on Primary Industries Prosper 2050 and action plans.
Primary Industries Prosper 2050 (Prosper 2050) represents a joint commitment between government, industry and stakeholders to work together to shape a thriving future for our primary industries.
At its core, Prosper 2050 is built on the principles of collective action, with government and industry working hand in hand to drive profitability, productivity and sustainability across the sector.
This is a shared commitment to:
- tackle barriers with smart, enabling regulation, policy and infrastructure
- back the sector through whole-of-government support
- deliver innovation that is scalable and delivers measurable benefits
- develop, track and report on key measures of success through 5-year actions
- empower local action through regional partnerships and industry leadership
- ensure prosperity is shared across sectors, regions and generations.
The Prosper 2050 vision of profitability, productivity and sustainability has been developed through a co-design process with:
- the Queensland Government
- industry
- sector partners
- stakeholders.
It is achievable and has strong support from all parties, including across all government agencies.
A set of principles were co-developed with an intent to guide how government and industry work together:
- being genuinely united
- evidence-based decision-making
- profitable and productive
- building trust
- accountable
- being bold enough to fail.
Together, we will monitor success and adjust our approach, if needed, to ensure our actions stay on track to deliver a prosperous future.
